Billy Idol (William Michael Albert Broad) is an English hard rock musician. Idol lived in Worthing before attending Sussex University for only a year before joining the Bromley Contingent of keen Sex Pistols fans. Idol formed a punk rock band called Generation X in 1976. Soon Billy decided it was time to go solo. The stage was set for the hugely successful 'Rebel Yell' in 1984. 1993's 'Cyberpunk' saw a new-look Idol, but this album flopped. In 1998 began an Idol revival.
