Andrew got his start in music in the year 1993, when he was 13. In between 1993 and 1998, the year his first solo album under his own name came out, he was in many differeny bands in Michigan, and even had a solo project titled ""Ancient Art of Boar"", or ""AAB"", that he started when he was 14, in 1994, and ended in 1998. Andrew's first release under the name ""Andrew W.K."" was in 2000, on the now-defunct Michigan record label Bulb Records, ran by Andrew's friend since his teen years, Peter Larson.
